Shuangcheng city

This city will focus on green and organic food processing and baked and instant foods, milk, dairy products, and fermentation products, and is expected to have an annual growth of 25 percent in output, by 2016.

It will build a farm produce distribution center to expand its market, which will integrate exhibitions, contract signing, storage, and transportation, with the volume of transactions expected to be worth 50 billion yuan, by 2016. It will also support the equipment business with the focus on metalworking machinery, automobiles, airplane molds, boilers, dynamo parts, electrical equipment, and car parts.

Wuchang city

This city will build a rice base to improve rice processing, develop downstream industries and support major companies, such as the Orient Group and COFCO Group. It will also focus on instant rice, rice oil, and white carbon black to extend its industrial chain and increase its added value output. It wants to develop three rice conglomerates, each worth 1 billion yuan, by 2016, and have 25-percent annual growth. It will also increase dairy product processing and milk sources, and introduce more companies for a production capacity of 150,000 tons of fresh milk, with 25-percent annual growth in total output, by 2016. And it will build an equipment manufacturing base for the farming, forestry, husbandry and fishing industries, as well as power transmission and distribution and is expected to have 30-percent annual growth in industrial output, by 2016.

Shangzhi city

This city will build a green and organic food processing base for milk and dairy products and is expected to raise more than 150,000 cows, by 2016. Its berry, nuts, wild vegetable, and edible mushroom industries are expected to have annual growth of 20 percent in output, by 2016. It will also develop wood processing for pencils, floor boards, matryoshka dolls, and furniture and will try to have a production capacity of 4 billion pencils and 2 million matryoshka dolls, by 2016, for an annual growth of 20 percent in total output value. It will also support new building materials processing to increase the production of decorative building stones, strengthened glass, anti-theft doors and windows, and solid wood furniture and is expected to have an annual growth rate of 35 percent in total industrial output, by 2016. 

Binxian county

This county will work on the Binxi National Development Zone, which will have an agricultural and sideline product processing base focused on meat processing, with 520,000 cattle, by 2016. It will also develop corn and soybean processing and is expected to have annual growth of 27 percent in total output, by 2016. It will also build the largest modern packaging base in the Northeast and is expected to have annual growth of 30 percent in total output, by 2016. It will support the optoelectronics industry in developing LED backing materials and is expected to have as many as five competitive companies with annual growth of 25 percent in total output, by 2016. The zone will also have a trade and export base with Russia focused on wood products.

Fangzheng county

This county will focus on chicken processing for a complete industrial chain that integrates chick incubation, feed supply, processing, and organic fertilizer production and is expected to have a capacity of 50 million chickens and annual growth of 25 percent in total output, by 2016.

It will also develop its silicon materials and new energy business and bring in leading silicon companies to develop top products, such as silica, quartz sand, electronic grade superfine powder, spherical silica powder, and silica gel and is expected to have annual growth of 30 percent industrial output in this sector, by 2016. It will use its wind and biomass resources to develop wind, biomass and nuclear power and expects to have an installed capacity of 1.52 million kW, and biomass power of 60,000 kW, and annual growth of 25 percent in output value, by 2016.

Yilan county

This county will develop a coal chemical base for chemical raw materials and products, such as coal-to-gas, coal-to-olefin, and coal-to-alcohol ether, and is expected to have annual growth of 20 percent in industrial output value, by 2016.

It will develop new energy, farm and sideline products industries and will use the China Datang Group, China Huaneng Group, and China Longyuan Power to develop the wind power industry and build a clean energy county with an installed capacity of 2.85 million kW, by 2016, and annual growth of 30 percent in industrial output. It will also develop farm and the sideline product processing business, in duck meat, beer, and beverages, with annual growth of 25 percent in total industrial output, by 2016.

Bayan county

This county will build a pork industry base to introduce major companies and extend the pork-processing chain, consisting of feed production, meat processing, transportation and refrigeration and is expected to have a processing capacity of 6 million pigs and annual growth of 30 percent in industrial output, by 2016.

The county will also develop soybean deep-processing and bearing fittings. Its soybean processing will focus on vegetable oil, concentrated protein, and protein peptide products, with an annual growth of 20 percent in industrial output, by 2016. Its bearing fittings business will focus on cylinders, cones, and steel ball, and retaining appliances and ferrules, with an expected annual growth of 25 percent in total industrial output, by 2016.

Mulan county

This county will pay greater attention to farm and sideline product processing, such as corn syrup, chickens, and mutton and should have annual growth of 30 percent in industrial output, by 2016. It will support the carpet industry as well by bringing in new technology and materials and is expected to have annual growth of 20 percent in total industrial output in this sector, by 2016.

Tonghe county

This county will develop its poultry processing industry to include animal feed, duck meat, special foods, organic fertilizer, and feather-filled products and, by 2016, is expected to have a processing capacity of 30 million ducks and annual growth of 30 percent in total industrial output.

Tonghe will focus on rice processing as well to expand production capacity and added value output, and is expected to have annual growth of 20 percent in total output, by 2016.

Yanshou county

This county will focus on poultry processing to animal husbandry, covering chicken raising, animal feed, and meat processing, with a processing capacity of 30 million chickens. It will also develop its rice processing and support soybean companies, and the rice oil business, and is expected to have annual growth of 30 percent in total output in this sector, by 2016. It will also support flax base development, focused on flax fiber and linen products and an extended flax industrial chain and is expected to have annual growth of 30 percent in total output value in this field, by 2016.

Harbin mourns dead firefighters from warehouse blaze

People in Harbin, Northeast China’s Heilongjiang province, paid tribute to five firefighters killed while trying to put out a warehouse blaze in the city on Jan 2.
