The China Harbin International Scientific and Technological Achievements Fair is jointly sponsored by the Ministry of Science and Technology, Heilongjiang provincial government and Harbin municipal government.
It is undertaken by the Heilongjiang Science and Technology Department and Jilin Science and Technology Bureau. The event has been held every two years since 2006. It has invited more than 600 experts and scholars from the Commonwealth of Independent States and eastern European countries in the previous three sessions, where more than 4,000 projects were showcased and 504 cooperation agreements were signed.
More than 30 percent of projects have now moved into the R&D phase or commercial production in Harbin. The fair has played an important role in introducing high-tech technology from Russia and other countries from the Commonwealth of Independent States for China’s “go global” strategy. It has made a name for itself and is the only one of its kind acknowledged by the Ministry of Science and Technology.
