Making NE China a hub of China - Russia e-commerce

A young Russian man who goes by the Chinese name of Jima and who works for an e-commerce site in the city of Harbin, Heilongjiang province is busy dealing with online customer inquiries and says he has to reply to at least 70 questions in Russian via phone or e-mail during peak season.
The 27-year-old from Russia's Sakha Republic got the job at the Come365 website after graduating from the Harbin University of Commerce three years ago and he and his five Russian colleagues sit in front of computers from the afternoon to 10:00 pm because of the time difference in the Commonwealth of Independent States, as well as Israel, Norway, Czech Republic, and Australia.
The company is located in “Cloud Valley”, in the Harbin Economic and Technological Development Zone that deals mainly with Russian-speaking areas and is home to more than 3 million online dealers.
In another part of Come365’s 1,800-sqaure-meter office area, Jima’s colleagues who receive orders have a tedious job that has to be done meticulously, checking on the quality, size and appearance of every item in the delivery area, which is piled high with goods.
One senior manager at Come365, Yang Yan, notes, “The staff in customer services, and the people who receives orders and those in logistics had to stay at their post during the Spring Festival holiday, in January,” then explains that the site received about 50,000 orders for clothing, shoes, hats, electronic goods, wedding dresses, and maternal and child supplies, valued at 11-million yuan ($1.68 million).
Thanks to convenient logistics in dealing with Russia, delivery speeds have improved and Russian customers can receive their goods in a week in some cases, and the easy online payment system make the platform a popular e-commerce provider for Russian users.
