International Dairy Expo opens in NE China

The city of Harbin, Heilongjiang province has gained new global attention with its international dairy expo, April 21 - 24 that brought in several hundred exhibitors from France, the United States, Hollland, New Zealand, Poland, Russia, Germany, Spain, and about 10 other countries.
They exhibition area of 25,000 square meters at Asia’s largest dairy industry event had displays of the latest products and technology in breeding, pasture facilities, processing, packaging, and all kinds of dairy products.

It attracted seven of the world’s top 10 dairy giants -- Nestle, Lactalis , Danone, Fonterra, FrieslandCampina, Arla, and Yili -- and other leading brands such as the China Mengniu Dairy Co, China's second-largest dairy producer and the French dairy cooperative Sodiaal Group.

There were also forums and seminars where industrial leaders and experts could share their ideas on everything from cattle breeding and raising to management of pastures to marketing. The organizer also arranged a special area with several hundred types of cheeses and other dairy products to taste and there was also a mini-pasture for calves and kid goats to show how they are fed and looked after under safe, sanitary conditions.

Harbin specifies punishments for paycheck delays, in response to reports that migrant workers are often the victims of delayed payment of wages.
At the second plenary session of the fourth session of the 14th Harbin People’s Congress, delegates offered advice and suggestion for the city’s development and people’s livelihood.
The city of Harbin, Heilongjiang province announced on a video-conference on educational reforms, in Harbin on Feb 2, that it plans to combine the educational resources in its various districts to give students more choices.
A total of 1,356 officials in Harbin received punishment for violating rules in 2014, according to a press briefing held by Harbin Municipal Party Commission of Discipline Inspection and the city’s Bureau of Supervision on Jan 29.
