Int’l expo for manufacturing industry kicked off in Harbin

An international exposition of the manufacturing industry opened on May 22 in Northeast China, the old industrial base of the country.
The 16th China Harbin International Manufacturer Expo (CHIME) covered an area of 34,000 square meters for more than 600 exhibitors from home and abroad.
They brought their latest products and technologies, ranging from high-end smart equipment manufacturing, industrial robots, 3D printing, new materials, to new energy vehicles to the three-day event.
As the only international expo of the manufacturing industry in the province, the CHIME is organized by the Heilongjiang provincial government, the municipal government of Harbin, and organized by the Heilongjiang branch and Harbin branch of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, and Harbin Zhongxin Weiye Exhibition Co.
Harbin specifies punishments for paycheck delays, in response to reports that migrant workers are often the victims of delayed payment of wages.
At the second plenary session of the fourth session of the 14th Harbin People’s Congress, delegates offered advice and suggestion for the city’s development and people’s livelihood.
The city of Harbin, Heilongjiang province announced on a video-conference on educational reforms, in Harbin on Feb 2, that it plans to combine the educational resources in its various districts to give students more choices.
A total of 1,356 officials in Harbin received punishment for violating rules in 2014, according to a press briefing held by Harbin Municipal Party Commission of Discipline Inspection and the city’s Bureau of Supervision on Jan 29.
