Initiated in 1961, the Summer of Harbin Music Festival has become one of the most prestigious city music events in China.

The festival, jointly hosted by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and Harbin municipal government, helped promote and integrate traditional cultural performances with popular entertainment.

The festival also further promoted the city as a tourist destination, by tapping the potential of the city’s history, culture, beautiful scenery and pleasant summer climate.

This year’s event was guided by the government with participants coming from all walks of life.
