The third Heilongjiang Longjiang Cup University Students Robot Design Competition, as well as the northern area selection competition of the seventh National Robot Innovative Design Contest, took place at the Harbin Far East Institute of Technology on Nov 30.

As national events that use robots for creative design, performance and competition, the robot competitions highlighted the deep integration of robotics and education. They were also efforts by China and Heilongjiang province to introduce scientific and technological skills into education.

This year’s competitions added two more competition items including a selection of micro-courses in robotics and robot design, making the total number of competition categories 14, divided into six categories. They attracted the participation of 350 teams from northern China.

Prize-winners from each competition category would obtain the qualification to attend the national robotics competition finals, which is scheduled to be held in Shanghai from Dec 7 to 9.
