Global food businesses seek opportunities in Harbin

The 2019 Harbin Cold Region Expo and Import Food Expo kicked off at the Harbin International Convention and Exhibition Center on Jan 5.
Sponsored by the government of Harbin, the three-day expo showcased foods from around the world and served as a platform to boost food industry communications and exchanges.
Several exhibition areas were set up to display organic foods, snacks, dairy products, wine, tea, beverages, cooking oil and dietary supplements.
The expo featured around 550 booths, with a total exhibition area of 12,000 square meters.
Around 1,000 food brands from more than 32 countries and regions, including Russia, the United States, Canada, Japan, South Korea, Malaysia and Thailand, participated in the expo.
Consumers not only had the chance to purchase the products on display at the expo, but also taste cooked food in the experience area.
An additional four activities also took place during the event –– the 2019 Belt and Road Harbin International Food Summit Forum, the Global Red Wine Tasting Meeting, a coffee making experience event, a business match-making meeting and the top 10 cheese brands selection conference.
