An art show featuring the participation of disabled persons was staged in Harbin’s Flood Control Memorial Tower Square on the evening of July 6.
Performers -- all from the Harbin Disabled Persons’ Data Management and Art Guidance Center – gave excellent performances that they had prepared for more than a month.
The art show highlighted shenhua, a folk instrument performance, presented by four girls with poor eyesight, and an African drum show performed by 14 performers sitting in their wheelchairs.
The event aimed to improve the public’s awareness of the need to care for the disabled and help lift them out of poverty by supporting them with their creative efforts.
