The third vegetable picking festival of the Songbei Shangri-La Hotel in Harbin was held in Harbin, Northeast China’s Heilongjiang province, on Aug 3.
Visitors were invited to pick vegetables in a vegetable farm at the hotel.
The vegetable farm is located behind the hotel’s cafeteria and covers an area of 400 square meters. Green beans, eggplants, lettuce, and tomatoes are all grown in the garden.
The farm would be capable of supplying the hotel’s vegetables for around 20 days, according to a hotel employee.
The festival provided an opportunity for city dwellers to pick vegetables and taste some authentic organic dishes. The festival also provided parents and children with an opportunity to enjoy themselves in a healthy, educational environment.
