Harbin is one of the most important hubs for transportation, communication and post distribution in Northeast China. In 2011, total cargo volume reached 114.3 million tons, an increase of 12.8 percent, and total volume of passenger transportation reached 14.8 million passengers, an increase of 13.4 percent.
