A total of 43,375 high school students in Harbin will take part in this year’s National College Entrance Examination, or gaokao, which will be held from June 7 to June 9.
There are 51 exam sites in Harbin this year, which comprise 1,378 classrooms with video surveillance systems.
Every classroom has metal detectors to detect whether students are carrying anything to enable them to cheat. Besides, every exam classroom has been installed with signal shield equipment.
A wall clock is installed in every test classroom, but examination stationery will not be distributed as usual.
There is a water drinking room, a clinic room and an examination office at every test site. A contingency plan has also been formulated in order to handle emergencies during examination time.
To ease traffic pressure, students are allowed to enter the test classroom from 7:30 am and 2 pm, an hour before every exam starts.
