The Harbin motorboat competition, as part of the 2017 U.I.M F1 Motorboat World Championship, is scheduled to unveil in the Hulan River Mouth Wetland Park this Saturday.
U.I.M F1 Motorboat World Championship is the most influential water powerboat event in the world, representing the highest level in the sport.
Information from the organization committee of the Harbin motorboat competition reveals that a total of nine teams from 20 countries and regions will participate in the two-day event, scheduled from Aug 12 to 13.
Officials from Union Internationale Motonautique (U.I.M), referees, together with the contestants, arrived at Harbin on Aug 6; and all the competition equipment was also transported to the competition site through Harbin-Europe block trains as of Aug 8.
Hulan River Mouth Wetland Park, the competition site, is fully ready for the motorboat event. To provide a better competition environment for all the participants, desilting work was conducted at the area of the water race track. Nearly 800,000 cubic meters of silts were cleared away, resulting in the depth of water surpassing 3.5 meters.
The Harbin organization committee also set up a new area measuring at about 5,000 square meters for parking and equipment placement.
“We are very satisfied with this year’s water race track due to the improvements it has made as compared to that of 2016”, said the secretary general of Union Internationale Motonautique.
Considering the requirements of the audiences, Hulan River Mouth Wetland Park also laid an artificial beach and set some 2,000 seats for visitors. In addition, a total of 2,300 parking spaces are available for people who drive to the park.
Currently, the operations for ticket booking has already started, visitors can get a ticket for both the Hulan River Mouth Wetland Park and the motorboat competition for 60 yuan ($9), through online and offline ticket booking channels.
