The Zetas 2×660-megawatt Super-critical Coal-fired Thermal Power Project Phase III, built by Harbin Electric Corporation (HE) in Turkey, won an award for being the best thermal power project from the committee of the 24th International Energy Environment Exhibition.
Meanwhile, HE also won the best EPC contractor award. HE is the first Chinese company to win the best EPC contractor award in seven years.
The International Energy Environment Exhibition is the largest and most influential event in Turkey’s energy sector. This year’s event was held in Istanbul, attracting the participation of 225 companies from 20 countries.
The project is the first time HEI, a subsidiary of HE, has entered the Turkish market. The power project will utilize the 660mW super-critical thermal power units manufactured by HE, with the wet flue gas desulphurization devices and SCR denitration devices built at the same time.
Construction work on the project officially began in October 2014.
The TOC certificates for the two units were received in September 2016, and the completion certificate was obtained two and a half months ahead of schedule. This project has been recorded as the 2x600mW-level unit EPC project in Turkey completed to a high standard in the shortest time.
The total power generated by the two units in 2017 was 9.51billion kWh; and the power supply in 2017 was 8.99 billion kWh. The two units operated for 354 days and 344 days respectively, with a maximum continuous operation period of 161 days and 142 days respectively. The operation data of the two units were all higher than those of units of the same type in Turkey.
