Harbin holds festival to promote red sausage brands
The second Harbin Red Sausage Culture Festival was unveiled in Jianshe Pedestrian Street, Nangang district, Harbin on Sept 9. The festival will last until Sept 24.
Red sausage is a Harbin delicacy with western flavour since a European sausage making process, introduced by a Russian technician named Adji Bins in 1913, is used.
Leading red sausage brands in Harbin are Harbin Roulian, Churin Leads, Laoha and Laodingfeng.
The festival is held to help Harbin businesses involved with red sausages to promote their brands and boost the development of local red sausage industry.
During the festival, tourists will not only have an opportunity to taste red sausages of different flavors, but also participate in many activities promoting the history and culture of red sausages.
