An innovation and entrepreneurship project competition, aimed at drawing in top international talent to come and start up businesses in Northeast China’s Heilongjiang province, was successfully held in the Belgium capital of Brussels on May 11.
Ten out of a total of 33 entry projects – including one focusing on the treatment of chronic wounds and a 3D virtual reality interaction project using AI algorithms -- reached the competition’s finals set for June in Harbin, capital city of Heilongjiang.
The competition kicked off earlier this year and preliminary heats were held in the United States, Europe and Japan. A total of 112 projects, 44 of which already have patents issued in one or more countries, were selected.
The winners of the finals will have their plans to start businesses in Heilongjiang boosted by the chance to obtain support through entrepreneurship, investment and housing subsidies, and other funding initiatives.
The competition is an effort by Heilongjiang to attract top minds and entrepreneurial talent and projects to help with the province’s economic and social development.
