In the first eight months of this year, the number of newly-registered market players in Harbin, capital of China's northernmost Heilongjiang province, reached 100,900, a year-on-year increase of 28.28 percent.
 
Among them, 1,304 were funded by domestic capital and 83 by foreign capital, 592 were registered as specialized farmer cooperatives, and 72,159 were individual industrial and commercial players.
 
The number of registered private market players and individual industrial and commercial households rose sharply year-on-year.
 
Market entities of the private economy accounted for more than 98 percent of newly registered market entities.
 
As of Aug 31, the total number of market entities in Harbin came in at 972,200, a year-on-year increase of 7.04 percent.
