A civilized traffic promotion activity, held by the Harbin civilization office and the Modern Evening Times, kicked off on July 20.

There were eight civilized traffic promotion stations in Daoli, Nangang, Daowai and Xiangfang district. A total of 300 volunteers – including university students, seniors and primary and middle school faculty – wearing red uniforms and carrying small flags in hand, advocated the importance of obeying traffic rules on the street in the rain. Their major duty was to stop people from crossing the street when the red light was on.
