Songhua River Wetland Tourism Festival

The Songhua River meanders through Harbin and has created wetlands for the city, which has led Harbin to develop wetland tourism. Starting from June 10, the Harbin Songhua River Wetland Festival will be held to give tourists a taste of the landscape sceneries of Songhua River’s wetlands and allow them to enjoy special tourist activities and the different kind of summer which is characteristic of Harbin.
The city boasts 125,000 hectares of wetlands, with 12 exceeding 667 hectares. The distinctive wetland ecology and scenery are highlights of the city’s summer months.
Many wetland scenic spots are located along the river, such as Sun Island, Jinhewan Wetland Botanic Garden, Binjiang Wetland Zone, Hulan River Mouth Wetland, Moon Lake, Volga Manor, and Baiyupao Wetland Park.
