Harbin calls for continuous efforts in civilized city construction

Heilongjiang province’s civilization work office recently convened a meeting in Harbin to discuss the difficulties and achievements in Harbin’s campaign on civilized city construction.
The authority urged all the government departments to make continuous efforts in people's livelihood improvement.
Representatives from all walks of life, such as government, hospitals, schools and travel agencies, as well as volunteers took part in the discussion after learning about a work report at the conference.
They all agreed that residents have benefited greatly from the campaign in various aspects, such as better public infrastructure and a cleaner environment.
The attendees also gave advice on solving urgent problems facing residents and suggested that civilized city construction should be made a long-term career for the whole society.
At the end of the meeting, the Heilongjiang province civilization work office highly praised the city’s progress in the past 10 years.
The office asked Harbin to work hard to keep a sanitary environment, maintain public order and improve its service for people.
Zhang Lixin, head of the city’s publicity department, chaired the meeting.
