Harbin’s modern industrial system sees rapid growth in 2020

Harbin’s modern industrial system covers the deep processing of green agricultural products and advanced equipment manufacturing, with modern biomedicines and the tourism sector as its pillar industries. Its rapidly developing sectors are information, new materials, finance and modern logistics.
Last year, the eight major industries brought in a total investment amount of 12.93 billion yuan, accounting for more than 40 percent of the city’s key industrial project investment. These industries strongly supported the city’s stable economic growth and investment attraction.
In the past year, the deep processing industry of green agricultural products maintained a healthy development trend and efforts were made to upgrade the deep processing system for agricultural products.
The industry’s annual output value reached 101.95 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 9.3 percent, and the development goal of an annual output value of 100 billion yuan was achieved one year ahead of schedule.
The advanced equipment manufacturing industry rebounded rapidly, achieving an annual output value of 77.3 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 11.6 percent.
The modern biomedical industry gradually improved, with total annual revenue of 80.7 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 2.9 percent.
The characteristic culture and tourism industries also experienced a steady rebound, realizing annual revenue of 136.26 billion yuan.
Meanwhile, Harbin’s four advantageous industries boosted the local economy’s development.
The information industry achieved total revenue of 34.77 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 6.4 percent, while the new material industry had an annual output value of 15.11 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 7.5 percent.
The financial industry maintained stable development throughout the year, with annual revenue of 85.81 billion yuan, increasing 2.6 percent year-on-year.
The modern logistics industry accelerated upgrading and achieved annual revenue of 89.47 billion yuan.
