The market regulation bureau in Harbin, capital city of Northeast China's Heilongjiang province, has released its business development data analysis report, revealing that 90,500 new businesses were registered in the city in the first half of this year.

This marks a 9.61 percent increase compared to the same period last year.

Among these new registrations, private enterprises accounted for over 26,000, representing a 15.67 percent increase from last year. Industrial and commercial registrations exceeded 62,000, showing a 7.54 percent increase. These figures highlight a burgeoning local market and a positive outlook on economic development within the community.

By the end of June 2024, Harbin’s total number of registered businesses stood at an impressive 1.17 million, reflecting a 4.76 percent increase from the previous year and constituting 35.36 percent of the provincial total. Private enterprises number 272,700, up by 9.31 percent from last year.

A Harbin market regulation bureau spokesperson attributed the growth to several key factors, including the previous winter season, which saw Harbin's tourism sector gain widespread popularity and significantly boost related industries.

The city's continuous efforts to optimize its business environment and streamline market access have stimulated activity and entrepreneurial spirit.
