Hanan Economic and Technological Development Zone (哈南工业新城) is in the southern part of the capital of Heilongjiang province. It has a total planned area of 462 square kilometers, including an economic development zone.
It has a planned wedge-shaped greenbelt of 76 square kilometers, and a total of 16 sq km of state-level agricultural demonstration zone.
The construction is divided into two phases - the short term phase lasted from 2010 to 2012, and involved 55.2 sq km, while the long-term phase is underway from 2013 to 2030, and will fully develop the remaining 280.1 sq km.
Hanan Economic and Technological Development Zone has set a goal to develop itself into the biggest modern industrial cluster in Heilongjiang province over a 20-year period. By the end of 2030, there will be complete industrial chains for equipment manufacturing, food, medicine, aviation, new materials and automobiles.
