Sisterhood partnership: Fairfax County, the United States

Harbin and Fairfax County formed a sisterhood partnership on June 15, 2010.
Fairfax County is located in north Virginia in the United States, and it is the most populous county in the state and the largest jurisdiction in the Washington Metropolitan Area. Ten Fairfax County companies are on the 2013 Fortune 500 list, and it is a renowned high-tech area which is sometimes referred to as “Silicon Valley in Washington”, thanks to its flourishing S&T software industry.
The Executive Vice-Mayor of Harbin, Jiang Ming, led a delegation to the county on March 9, 2009, and the two sides agreed on exchanges and cooperation in the field of economy and trade, S&T, culture and education, as well as tourism.
The County Chief of Fairfax, Sharon Boileau, attended the China Harbin International Economic and Trade Fair, between June 14 and17, 2010.
