Typhoon Lekima resulted in delays for 46 flights and the cancellation of 27 flights in China’s most northern international aviation hub -- Harbin Taiping International Airport in Heilongjiang’s capital city -- according to information from Heilongjiang Airport Group on Aug 11.
The cancelled flights were mainly those heading to Qingdao, Weihai and Rizhao in East China’s Shandong province, Guangzhou in South China’s Guangdong province and Shanghai in East China.
Passengers were able to find flight information from electronic screens, customer announcements and Weibo -- the social media platform similar to Twitter.
