The 7th China-Russian Roundtable Meeting on High-tech Application Development and Scientific and Technological Cooperation officially kicked off on July 5 in Harbin, capital city of China's northernmost Heilongjiang province, both on-site and online.
 
This year's meeting was themed on innovation, coordination, sharing and win-win outcomes.
 
It was sponsored by the international cooperation department of the Ministry of Science and Technology, the department of international cooperation of the Russian Ministry of Science and Higher Education and the Heilongjiang Provincial Science and Technology Department.
 
At the meeting, representatives of China and Russia shared their insights into key areas of bilateral scientific and technological innovation, personnel training, platform developments and other aspects based on regional cooperation practices.
 
The meeting also provided a platform for enterprises and institutes to learn about each other's needs, and negotiate deals and it examined key project promotions in such fields as new energy vehicles, carbon materials, intelligent manufacturing and the digital economy.
 
Innovative companies - including Harbin Boshen Technology Development Co and Harbin Wanxin Graphite Valley Technology Co - gave details on their specific project needs to promote the transfer and commercialization of scientific and technological achievements. 
 
Elsewhere, eight leading Chinese and Russian companies in the scientific and technological fields carried out on-site project promotions.
 
Through the meeting's online channel, visitors had the opportunity to learn about recent sci-tech achievements in China and Russia through an exhibition.
 
Additionally, three online B2B - business-to-business - project matchmaking meetings will be held in the fields of new materials, intelligent manufacturing, biomedicines and general health on July 20-22.
 
Since 2015, the Sino-Russian Roundtable Meeting on High-tech Application Development and Scientific and Technological Cooperation has been held alternately in Harbin and in the city of Yekaterinburg in Russia.
 
It has become an important symbol of the scientific and technological innovation cooperation between the two countries.
