Heilongjiang province’s first agricultural e-commerce platform went into operation on Feb 8. The platform offers online transactions, information services, traceability of agricultural products and credit information services.

The platform will set up e-commerce stations in more than 1,000 villages in 2015. With the help of the third party delivery service provider, farmers can receive the commodities they purchase online in at least three days.

All the agricultural products from local companies and cooperatives sold on the platform have gotten the government’s qualification authentication. The members can get supply and demand information on bulk commodities, such as grain, vegetables and potatoes, on the platform, which will also offer financial services including loans from commercial banks.

There are around 100 companies and co-ops entering the online market with more than 240 kinds of products.

The platform is also expected to cooperate with e-commerce providers such as JD.com and Yhd.com to promote the development of Heilongjiang’s green food industry.
