There is an Agriculture Fair taking place in Chengdu, Sichuan province, from, Nov 19 to 23 that has given people from the southern part of China a taste of the green food specialties from Harbin, Heilongjiang province in the Northeast, many of them making their first appearance down here, local authorities say.

The Harbin government, sponsor of the show, has sent representatives of 66 green food enterprises, which have taken up 62 booths on a 750-square-meter space to display their grains, edible oils, meat, eggs, dairy products, vegetables, drinks and snacks. Visitors get chance to taste authentic Harbin flavors in the special booths, decorated with popular Harbin images such as the Flood Control Monument, St Sophia Church and Sun Island.

In commenting on the display, one Harbin government representative said, “The exhibitors are mostly leading provincial and municipal enterprises and famous producers with certified pollution-free, green or organic, or geographical food items.”
