The 17th Harbin International Equipment Manufacturing Industry Exhibition will be held from May 25 to May 27 at the Harbin International Exhibition Center, according to a news conference on May 23.

About half of the companies attending are from other cities and half are from Harbin, including famous local companies such as HIT Robot Group and Harbin No 1 Machinery Group.

This year’s expo is themed “new engine, new road and new intellectual manufacturing”. About 700 companies will attend, with exhibition booths occupying 35,000 square meters.

High-end products will be showcased at the expo, including robots, 3D printers and new energy cars.

The number of companies participating in this year’s expo has increased by 87 percent from last year. Exhibitors taking part in the expo have come from both home and abroad, including the United States, Israel, Russia, Shenzhen, Wuxi and Shenyang.

The number of visitors to the expo is expected to reach 8,000 to 10,000, an increase of at least  40 percent.
