The largest milk powder can production base in Northeast China started operations in Harbin, capital city of Heilongjiang province on Jan 30.
Currently, the company operates four milk powder can production lines, with an annual production capacity of 80 million units. It is anticipated that sales revenues will reach 150 million yuan ($23.84 million) when all production lines are operating at full capacity.
Due to the company’s advanced production lines and processing devices, an off-the-shelf milk powder can will be manufactured from a piece of tinplate within five minutes.
The Harbin Meite Packaging Container Co, which is located in Hanan Industry New Zone, is a joint venture which received investment from businesses in China and Singapore in 2008.
Construction work on a new factory started in September 2015.
The new factory covers an area of 23,000 square meters, with a total investment of 120 million yuan.
“Heilongjiang province, as the largest milk production base in China, has attracted many famous dairy enterprises to establish production bases. It creates a huge market for us,” said Qu Xiaoguang, general manager of Harbin Meite Packaging Container Co.
The company has already signed orders with dairy enterprises such as Nestle China, Beinmate, Yili, Wondersun and Longdan Dairy.
Meanwhile, the company plans to expand its products to packaging for cooking oil and soft drinks in the second half of 2018.
