The Northeast China Gene Innovation and Development Center was established in Harbin, Heilongjiang province on Feb 6. It is expected to become a new economic driving force of the city and serve businesses in the three provinces of Northeast China region.

The center is located in Harbin Economic and Technological Development Zone, which will provide services for businesses in biopharmaceutical and medical fields, including technological support, training, legal affairs, financing, venture capital and external liaison service.

Currently, nine companies and research institutions have signed agreements to settle in the center, such as Predicine Medical Science and Technology Company and the genome center affiliated to Harbin Medical University.
