The seventh Harbin International Scientific and Technological Achievements Trade Fair opened its doors in Harbin, capital city of Northeast China’s Heilongjiang province, on Oct 12.

This year’s fair had “pushing forward regional innovation and achieving resource sharing” as its main theme, providing a platform for businesses from home and abroad to seek cooperation opportunities in science and technology.

A total of 1,061 scientific and technological achievements from 30 countries were on display at the fair, including those from Britain, Russia, South Korea, Iran, Ukraine and Belarus.

The exhibited achievements involve sectors in new materials, bioengineering and cold temperature industry.

Shenzhen in South China’s Guangdong province and Novosibirskaya Oblast in Russia were invited as main guest cities to push forward cross-border and cross-region coordinated innovation and development.

Other activities were also held during the fair, including match-making meetings, the third China-Russia High-tech Forum, a food industry cooperation meeting and on-site research activities.

The trade fair was sponsored by Harbin People’s Government and the Science and Technology Department of Heilongjiang province.
