China, Russia deepen regional customs cooperation

A roundtable meeting of postal companies and the regional customs offices of China and Russia took place in Harbin, capital city of Northeast China’s Heilongjiang province, on June 14.
The meeting aimed to improve the general trade environment and boost the development of cross-border e-commerce between China and Russia.
The regional customs offices of China and Russia each gave a briefing on their department conditions, responsibilities, policies and regulations about outbound postal items.
The two sides also reached consensus on promoting reform and innovation of customs administration, strengthening policy communications and links, building a joint cooperation platform, and working together to create a mutually beneficial trading environment.
The customs authorities will further improve the cooperation mechanism between China and Russia for the seizure of goods and for information exchange, jointly crack down on illegal activities in postal channels, study cooperation measures to improve customs clearance efficiency serving postal companies and the cross-border e-commerce industry.
