Sino-Japan Economic Cooperation Conference held in Harbin

The 2019 Heilongjiang Sino-Japan Economic Cooperation Conference kicked off in Harbin, capital city of Heilongjiang province, on July 29 and ran to July 30. Its aim was to deepen economic and trade links between Japan and the three provinces and one autonomous region in the Northeast China region.
This year’s conference had as its theme “grasp the opportunity of comprehensive revitalization in Northeast China and promote Sino-Japan economic and trade cooperation.” Organizers said the conference is serving as a platform for economic and trade exchanges, and as a match-making platform for companies.
Some 380 officials and business representatives attended the conference, including those from the Department of Asian Affairs of Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China, the National Development and Reform Commission, the governments of Heilongjiang, Jilin and Liaoning provinces, as well as Inner Mongolia autonomous region, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan and the Japan-China Economic Association.
A series of activities – among them high-level officials meetings, speeches, match-making meetings and field visits – were held during the event, with the focus on business deals and trading in the manufacturing, modern agriculture, food processing, sightseeing and healthcare industries.
Wang Wentao, governor of Heilongjiang province, conveyed his warm welcome to the attendees and expressed his hopes that Heilongjiang and Japan would deepen their business links in the winter sports and tourism sector, development of scenic areas, tourism information sharing, as well as robotics, high-grade computer numerical control machine tools, offshore equipment and graphite processing.
