The Northeast Asia International Trade Center, a platform for boosting regional cooperation and free trade between Heilongjiang and Northeast Asian countries, will be established in the Harbin New Zone in Harbin, capital of Northeast China’s Heilongjiang province.

The center is the first large convention and exhibition complex to be built in the Harbin New Zone since the establishment of the Harbin Area of the Heilongjiang Pilot Free Trade Zone.

It will be used to host trade fairs and economic forums and engage in scientific and technological innovation and business financing.

It is meant to serve as a global commodity experience center and is expected to become a global commodity trading port, a comprehensive international trade center, and the largest and most influential global commodity import and distribution center in Northeast Asia by taking advantage of the China International Import Expo and introducing high-quality trade resources.

The two skyscrapers being built for the trade center are expected to become new Harbin landmarks.

The Harbin New Zone will cooperate with Greenland Holding Group, Huawei and Alibaba to introduce 5G technology and artificial intelligence and provide smart management services for the center. It will also cooperate with German convention and exhibition service provider Deutsche Messe, based in Hannover, to hold high-end trade exhibitions.
