The organizing committee of the Harbin International Economic and Trade Fair announced on April 21 that this year’s trade fair in the city in China’s northernmost province of Heilongjiang will be postponed until June 15 to 19.

Officials said the move was approved by the Heilongjiang Provincial People’s Government, in a bid to reduce the risk of novel coronavirus spread and infection.

They said that in the meantime the organizing committee will provide exhibitors and buyers with such services as market consulting, online project matchmaking and big data sharing through the official website of the Harbin International Economic and Trade Fair.

This year marks the 31st anniversary of the trade fair.

The Harbin International Economic and Trade Fair, established in 1990, is a national-level and international large-scale economic and trade exhibition approved by China’s central government.

It serves as a platform for promoting commerce between Beijing and Moscow, and is permanently held in Harbin, capital city of Heilongjiang province.
