Deals signed at Harbin Online Investment Promotion to Europe meeting

A total of seven cooperation deals were signed at the Harbin Online Investment Promotion to Europe event, which was held in Harbin, capital city of China’s northernmost Heilongjiang province, on Sept 3.

The promotion meeting witnessed cooperative relationships established between Harbin and the Chamber of Commerce of North East England, the Spain-China Friendship Association, the British Chamber of Commerce in China, the Finland Chamber of Commerce in Beijing and German Global Trade Forum Berlin.

It was attended by envoys of 14 European countries to China, representatives of 19 well-known European business associations, and business associations from Harbin’s sister cities, and was also joined in by 22 foreign enterprises via a video conference.

During the meeting, Sun Zhe, mayor of Harbin, introduced Harbin's unique geographical advantages in terms of opening-up, as well as its rich natural resources, scientific and technological strength, huge consumer market, favorable investment policies and better development environment.

Meanwhile, the Harbin foreign affairs office created Harbin investment promotions. The office interprets the investment supporting policies of Harbin New Zone, Harbin Economic Development Zone and Harbin Comprehensive Bonded Zone.

In recent years, Harbin has been deeply involved in the Belt and Road Initiative, and has promoted all-round exchanges with EU cities under the framework of the “17+1 cooperation mechanism” (16 CEE countries and Greece plus China).

Harbin has established friendships with 32 cities in 23 European countries and carried out mutually beneficial and pragmatic cooperation in many fields such as economy and trade, medical treatment, culture and education.
