Construction continues on Harbin’s major business projects

In the spring of 2021, a total of 86 projects will start or resume construction in the new zone. Of which, 26 projects will break ground, while 60 will continue construction.
In terms of project categories, 30 are industrial projects, accounting for 45.35 percent of the total, and 47 are service projects, accounting for 54.65 percent.
According to the project plan, 25 projects are scheduled to start or resume construction in March, 39 in April and 22 in May.
Among the representative projects under construction are the scientific research headquarters of Harbin-Shenzhen Industrial Park, the China-Russia Science and Technology Exchange Center and the Harbin International Conference Center.
Tang Xiaolei, the person in charge of the scientific research headquarters of Harbin-Shenzhen Industrial Park, stated that the project resumed construction 12 days earlier than in 2020.
During the peak hours at the construction site, the number of on-site workers is expected to reach 3,500 people.
The first phase of the project covers a floorage area of 424,100 square meters. It is a complex integrating exhibitions, research and development, office space, enterprise incubation, business services and talent residence.
It is scheduled to go into use in October 2021.
The China-Russia Science and Technology Exchange Center has a floorage of 190,000 square meters. It is expected to become a gathering place to display scientific research achievements, sports competitions, art performances, commerce and entertainment.
The Harbin International Conference Center can provide 6,300 seats in its 70 meeting rooms, holding meetings, culture and technology exhibitions and branding events.
The two centers are expected to complete construction and go into use in May 2023 and August 2023, respectively.
