Heilongjiang's foreign trade sees rapid growth in first 8 months

In the first eight months of this year, the foreign trade of Northeast China's Heilongjiang province was valued at 127.7 billion yuan ($19.16 billion) -- an increase of 22.3 percent over the same period in the previous year.
 
Statistics showed that exports totaled 27.64 billion yuan, an increase of 15.9 percent, while imports came in at 100.06 billion yuan, an increase of 24.2 percent.
 
From January to August, general trade imports and exports grew rapidly and their proportions increased. They were valued at 104.91 billion yuan, an increase of 27.3 percent and accounting for 82.2 percent of the province’s total foreign trade.
 
Small border trade imports and exports were valued at 14.07 billion yuan, an increase of 13 percent, and accounting for 11 percent of the province's total foreign trade.
 
Meanwhile, imports and exports of State-owned enterprises grew rapidly, and private enterprises continued to maintain their growth momentum.
 
In the first eight months of this year, the imports and exports of State-owned enterprises in the province were valued at 74.01 billion yuan, an increase of 36.5 percent and accounting for 58 percent of the province's total foreign trade.
 
Imports and exports of private enterprises were valued at 45.25 billion yuan, an increase of 9.9 percent, while those of foreign-invested enterprises were 7.82 billion yuan, down 3.5 percent.
 
In addition, Heilongjiang maintained strong trade with its main trade partners.

Its trade with Russia reached 82.62 billion yuan, an increase of 25.6 percent and accounting for 64.7 percent of the province's total.
 
Imports and exports between the province and Brazil, the United States, New Zealand, and ASEAN countries increased by 90.3 percent, 1.9 percent, 35.5 percent, and 30.8 percent, respectively.
 
Trade with countries involved in the Belt and Road Initiative was valued at 83.12 billion yuan, an increase of 24.6 percent. Imports and exports between the province and countries participating in the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement amounted to 11.48 billion yuan, up 20.4 percent.
