With a total length of 90.7 kilometers, the new road in Harbin – capital of China's northernmost Heilongjiang province – is designed with eight lanes, with four lanes going in either direction and it has a design speed of 120 km per hour.
A total of 24 bridges will be built along the new road, at a total length of 18,778 meters.
Under the construction plans, the road will start from Zhenghuang village in Wuchang city and be connected to the southeast section of the Harbin urban ring road.
After passing through Dongguan town in Shuangcheng district and the east of the Harbin Taiping International Airport, it will cross the Songhua River near Xiaoshanzitun and end at the north of Wuzhan town in Zhaodong city and connect with the northern section of the Harbin ring road.
Nine interchanges – including Niujia, Niujia South, Qingnong, Xinsheng, Heping, Tongfa, Wuzhan and Anju – will be constructed.
A number of support facilities will also be set up – including monitoring and communications sub-centers, toll stations, maintenance areas, service areas and parking areas, among others.
