Expectations and excitement are building as preparations are made for the Harbin Songhua River Ice and Snow Carnival – an important part of the annual China International Ice and Snow Festival – soon to be held in the city of Harbin, capital of China's northernmost Heilongjiang province.
As an open park with free admission, the Harbin Songhua River Ice and Snow Carnival highlights public participation, interactive entertainment and innovation.
This year's carnival will cover a total area of 1.40 million square meters on a section of the frozen Songhua River near the Harbin Flood Control Memorial Tower.
