It is predicted that the Harbin airport will reach its passenger flow peak between Jan 18 and 20, with around 430 flights scheduled to leave and arrive at the airport on those days.
With the recovery of the interprovincial tourism market, and the arrival of the Spring Festival travel rush, demand for air travel is continuously increasing.
The passengers are travelling for sightseeing, family or business purposes during this time, though it should be noted that an increase of tourists is coming to Harbin to experience the ice and snow season.
The majority of the coming passengers will be flying from Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Chengdu, Chongqing, Shenzhen and Xiamen.
The occupancy rate of flights from the aforementioned cities to Harbin has reached 80 percent.
Meanwhile, Sanya, Haikou, Xishuangbanna and Beihai are favored by Harbin residents due to their warm and pleasant climate. The flights from Harbin to Sanya and Haikou are almost fully booked.
In order to meet the travel needs of passengers during the Spring Festival, Harbin airport has actively coordinated with airlines to resume flight routes.
The number of daily flights has increased to about 400, of which more than 20 are daily flights from Harbin to Beijing and Shanghai. In addition, more than 10 daily flights are from Harbin to Shenzhen, Sanya, Haikou, Chengdu, Hangzhou or Guangzhou.
