The 2023 Harbin Ice and Snow Expo successfully kicked off in Harbin, the capital city of China's northernmost Heilongjiang province, on March 17.
 
The expo will run for three days, until March 19.
 
The expo is sponsored by the Harbin municipal government and is organized by the Harbin Committee of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade.
 
It has set up 14 themed exhibition areas, which cover 23,800 square meters in total.
 
Exhibits include the latest ice and snow products, technologies and services in the domestic and foreign equipment industry. Other exhibits focus on ice and snow sports, trade, culture, clothing, and other related aspects.
 
The total number of exhibits reaches 3,000. Of which, around 1,200 are newly-launched products.
 
This year’s expo has attracted the participation of five Fortune Global 500 companies and the proportion of international exhibitors is 35 percent, indicating that the expo’s internationalization is relatively high.
 
On the day of the opening ceremony, the 2023 Harbin International Ice and Snow Economic Development Summit Forum was also held, with the theme "Ice and Snow Empowered Economy, Harbin City Leads Development."
 
The attendees talked about the future development of the ice and snow economy in terms of opportunities, responsibilities, and prospects. The latest research results and industry experience in the sector were also announced on that day.
