A freight train carrying 165 commercial vehicles departed from the Harbin International Container Center in Harbin, the capital city of China's northernmost Heilongjiang province on April 16.
 
This is the first China-Europe Railway Express train to have been launched by Heilongjiang province to transport branded domestic commercial vehicles. It will head for Europe via Manzhouli Port in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region.
 
It is introduced that vehicles on this train are worth more than 33 million yuan ($4.75 million), and are expected to arrive in Europe within 15 days.
 
At present, the second China-Europe Railway Express train loaded with domestically-produced commercial vehicles is scheduled to depart this week. It will cover more branded domestic vehicle models.
 
The transportation of goods from Heilongjiang to Europe via railway can save about three quarters of the cost when compared to air freight.
 
Meanwhile, when compared to road transportation, both the delivery time and export costs can be reduced by more than two-thirds and more than one-quarter, respectively.
 
The Harbin International Container Center is the first modern international logistics center in the province to carry out the import and export of completed automobiles and spare parts. It has an operating capacity of 100 China-Europe Railway Express trains per year.
 
In the future, the province plans to intensify the volume of its commercial vehicle exports.
