Harbin Electric Corporation (HEC) has been included among the Top 50 Pioneers in China's Industrial Digital Transformation for 2024 thanks to its persistent efforts in intelligent manufacturing.
 
The prestigious list was unveiled at the 10th International Intelligent Manufacturing Forum in Wuhan on Sept 5.
 
This recognition not only highlights HEC's dedication to intelligent manufacturing but also acknowledges its continuous efforts to drive forward digital transformation within the industry.
 
The selection criteria for the top 50 pioneers included manufacturing enterprises that have been involved in the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology's digital transformation pilot projects over the past five years.
 
The achievements of the included companies offer new insights and models for digital transformation and intelligent manufacturing in the industry.
   
In recent years, HEC has actively supported national strategies, focusing on high-end, intelligent, and green development. The company has established a three-system industrial layout consisting of a new power system, a green and low-carbon drive system, and a clean and efficient industrial system.
 
HEC has been committed to enhancing overall labor productivity, improving employee working conditions, and increasing quality while reducing costs. By thoroughly integrating digital technology with traditional manufacturing, HEC has promoted automation to replace manual operations, machinery to replace human labor, and remote operations to replace on-site monitoring.
 
Over the past three years, HEC has undertaken the construction of 10 digital workshops, five digital production lines, 17 digital production units, a model-based definition platform, and 17 digital welding units.
 
As of now, the two newly built digital workshops, two digital production lines, and five digital production units have increased production capacity by over 30 percent and production efficiency by over 20 percent, while reducing staffing needs by more than 10 percent.
