Two projects from Harbin, capital of China's northernmost Heilongjiang province, made the Heilongjiang National Cultural Protection, Inheritance and Utilization Project Reserve Bank list during the 14th Five-Year Plan Period (2021-25).

This was recently announced by the Heilongjiang Provincial Reform and Development Commission, and a total of 49 projects across the province were included on the list.

The two Harbin projects include an archaeological specimen warehouse project of the Heilongjiang Provincial Institute of Cultural Relics and Archaeology, and a tourism infrastructure project of the Yabuli National Tourism Resort.

The projects that made the list are expected to obtain funds from the central government for project construction and protection.

In May of this year, the National Development and Reform Commission, together with the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee and the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, issued the "Cultural Protection, Inheritance, and Utilization Project Implementation Plan."

According to the plan, by 2025, the national urban and rural public cultural service system will be more complete, the protection of key cultural relics and major archaeological relics will be improved, and the integration of culture and tourism will be deepened.

During the 14th Five-Year Plan period, investment in the central budget will focus on supporting five projects, including the construction of national cultural parks, the protection of national key cultural relics and archaeological excavations, the protection and display of important natural heritage, the construction of major tourism infrastructure, and the construction of key public cultural facilities.
