The Yimakan Shadow Play is preformed in Harbin, capital of northeast China's Heilongjiang province, Jan 30, 2015. The Yimakan Shadow Play integrated with two world intangible cultural heritages, Hezhe Yimakan and Wangkui Shadow Puppetry. Hezhe Yimakan, the unique storytelling of China's Hezhe ethnic group, was inscribed on UNESCO's List of World Intangible Heritage in Need of Urgent Safeguarding in 2011. Wangkui Shadow Puppetry, originated from Wangkui county of Heilongjiang province, was registered in UNESCO's Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity as a part of Chinese Shadow Puppetry in the same year.
