Sino-Russia culture week to focus on music and paintings

Renowned artists from China and Russia will bring their performances to the coming Sino-Russia culture week which involves a series of cultural activities held in Harbin, capital of Heilongjiang province, Aug 28 to Sept 3, the organizers announced, on Aug 4.
The 7-day culture week will have an art festival, concerts, exhibits, stage shows, book fairs and dances to demonstrate the cooperation and friendship of China and Russia, as well as Harbin’s own brand as a historically cultured city for the national Belt and Road Initiative.
The event will also provide a site where artists from both countries can share ideas and communicate with each other to promote mutual development.
The Russian National Symphony will also be putting in an appearance along with the 100-year-old Harbin Symphony Orchestra to give the locals and visitors a wonderful musical time under a theme of peace. And there will also be exhibits of Chinese and Russian paintings during the event.
The event is sponsored by the Harbin and Sverdlovsk Oblast (Russia) governments, and they expect 11 Russian cities to take part.
