Harbin summer music fair to open on Aug 6

The 36th Harbin Charming Summer Music Fair is set to open on Aug 6 in Harbin, capital city of China's northernmost Heilongjiang province.
 
This year's music fair consists of seven major sections: an opening ceremony performance, national exhibition activities, Chinese and foreign classical series performances, national professional music academy teaching achievements displays, mass cultural activities, characteristic intangible cultural heritage displays, and fashion culture displays.
 
Notably, the 2023 Harbin Schoenfeld International String Competition, the 6th Harbin International Accordion Art Week, and other international music competitions will be part of the event. Artists and competitors from 28 countries and regions are invited to gather in Harbin to demonstrate the charm and excitement of the arts.
 
For the first time, a national excellent symphony performance exhibition featuring symphony orchestras from 14 provinces, autonomous regions, and municipalities nationwide will perform 12 symphony concerts in Harbin.
 
Moreover, this year marks the first time the "Harbin International Music Culture Industry Expo" will be held in the name of the government.
 
The highly anticipated expo is set to unfold across a vast expanse, enveloping a sprawling total area of 12,000 square meters, ensuring an immersive and comprehensive experience for all attendees.
 
Within its captivating embrace, visitors will have the opportunity to explore and revel in eight exhibition areas, each dedicated to distinct facets of the mesmerizing world of music and performance equipment.
 
The expo's offerings span a rich tapestry of Chinese and Western musical instruments to the captivating realm of music creation and copyright, creative music products, light shows, and foreign music culture, providing a platform that celebrates the ingenuity and artistry of musical creators.
 
About 200 well-known domestic and foreign enterprises and industrial bases will be invited to participate.
 
The expo expects to attract 300 representatives from national and provincial departments, industry associations, key enterprises, and guests from countries like Russia, South Korea, the Middle East, and Central Asia.
 
Concurrently, 20 instrument brand promotion meetings, brand audio listening meetings, and light show fields will be held, among other promotional activities.
