Ice and snow group wedding held in Harbin

The 33rd Harbin International Ice and Snow Group Wedding was held on Jan 6, 2017, in Harbin, Northeast China’s Heilongjiang province.
Eighteen couples from Guangdong, Shanxi, Inner Mongolia and Heilongjiang held their wedding ceremonies and began their new lives there.
As part of the Harbin International Ice and Snow Festival, the group wedding is also one of the most popular activities for both Harbin residents and people from China and abroad.
One of this year’s couples is from Russia. Iwan and Julia became acquainted with each other in Harbin, and fell in love in the beautiful icy city.
Wang Yong, a Guangzhou resident in his fifties, also came to Harbin with his wife to celebrate their wedding anniversary.
The Harbin International Ice and Snow Group Wedding is the first ice and snow wedding in China. So far, Harbin has held 33 weddings for 1,089 couples.
This year’s group wedding, themed “pure ice, snow and beautiful love”, was jointly held by Harbin municipal publicity department and Harbin Daily.
